A&DD/CT&D Student projects showcased at international conference

The International Conference on e-Learning and Innovative Pedagogies provides a forum for educators from around the world to share ideas and stimulate peer-to-peer learning. Past speakers of this conference included educators and industry leaders such as Professor Chris Dede, Harvard University, James C. Spohrer, Director of Cognitive OpenTech at IBM, and Professor Caroline Haythornthwaite, Syracuse University.

Through a multimedia presentation titled The Future is Inclusive, Prof. Yeh and Prof. Shin introduced the theoretical framework and methodology of incorporating inclusive design principles in FIT’s Creative Technology & Design courses. Examples of concrete learning outcomes were demonstrated through student projects, assignments, and in-class exercises. The challenges and opportunities of teaching inclusive design in college-level design courses were also be discussed.
