Advertising & Digital Design BFA @ FIT

The State Education Department has approved FIT’s request for a program name change from Advertising Design to Advertising & Digital Design (A&DD) for the incoming BFA students of 2019. This program name change reflects the recent curriculum innovation efforts from the curriculum committee to stay on the cutting edge of innovation as well as to reflect the demand for creative talents in the industry.

“Our goal is to create a program that prepares students for some of the most exciting and lucrative career options for today’s creative economy, such as art director, creative writer, user experience designer, digital product designer, motion graphics artist, social media specialist, and content strategist,” says Joe Staluppi, Chair of A&DD curriculum committee.

FIT’s A&DD program curriculum includes concept development, strategy planning, art direction, design, copywriting, internship, and a strong liberal arts education. The flexible nature of the curriculum also enables students to specialize in copywriting, social media, or brand identity with elective credits. A&DD is a pioneer integrating advertising and digital design. It was the first BFA Program in the world to create specialized digital design courses such as kinetic typography, user experience design, typography for digital content design, and digital product design.
